Introduction
Plantation Pineapple Stiggins is a unique and innovative rum that pays homage to Reverend Stiggins, a character from Charles Dickens' Pickwick Papers known for his love of pineapple rum. This exceptional spirit combines the expertise of traditional rum-making with the natural sweetness of Victoria pineapples.
Production Process
The creation of Stiggins involves a two-step infusion process:
- First, the rinds of Victoria pineapples are macerated in white rum for several weeks
- Separately, the flesh of the pineapples is infused in dark rum
- Both infusions are then blended and aged in oak barrels to create the final product
Taste Profile
This exceptional rum offers a complex and well-balanced flavor profile:
- Nose: Fresh tropical pineapple, candied fruit, and subtle oak notes
- Palate: Natural pineapple sweetness balanced with vanilla, spice, and caramel
- Finish: Smooth and long-lasting with a perfect harmony between rum and fruit
Origin & Territory
The rum base is sourced from the Caribbean, while the Victoria pineapples are carefully selected for their superior flavor and aromatics. The final blending and aging process takes place in France under the supervision of Maison Ferrand.
