A smooth blend of fresh fruit, warm vanilla, and delicate spice notes.
Hennessy VS (Very Special) is one of the world's most popular cognacs, representing the consistent quality and heritage of the Hennessy house. This flagship blend showcases the expertise of eight generations of Master Blenders from the Fillioux family.
How It's Made
Hennessy VS is crafted from a selection of Ugni Blanc grapes grown in the Cognac region of France. After harvesting, the grapes are pressed and fermented into a white wine, which is then double-distilled in traditional copper pot stills, creating eau-de-vie. The spirit matures in French oak barrels for at least 2 years, though many components are aged longer. The Master Blender then carefully selects and combines different eau-de-vie to create the signature VS blend.
Taste Profile
The nose presents fresh, floral notes with hints of vanilla and toasted oak. On the palate, expect:
- Bright fruit flavors of grape and citrus
- Warm vanilla and oak undertones
- Delicate spice notes
- A smooth, well-balanced finish
Territory
Hennessy VS comes from the Cognac region in western France, specifically from vineyards in the Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies, and Fins Bois areas. The terroir's unique chalky soil and maritime climate create ideal conditions for growing the grapes used in cognac production.
