Fratelli Ponte
Crisp and elegant, with notes of pear, citrus, and a subtle almond finish.
This exquisite white wine from the Roero region of Piedmont showcases the best characteristics of the Arneis grape variety. Fratelli Ponte, a family-owned winery, continues their tradition of producing high-quality wines that reflect the unique terroir of northwestern Italy.
Winemaking
The Arneis grapes are carefully harvested by hand and immediately transported to the winery for processing. After gentle pressing, the must undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve the grape's delicate aromatic profile. The wine then ages on its fine lees for several months before bottling, adding complexity and texture.
Taste Profile
This Roero Arneis presents a brilliant straw-yellow color with subtle green reflections. The nose reveals an elegant bouquet of white flowers, pear, and citrus fruits, with hints of almonds and fresh herbs. On the palate, it offers a harmonious balance between crisp acidity and a full-bodied structure, displaying flavors of ripe stone fruits, mineral notes, and a characteristic subtle bitter almond finish.
Territory
The Roero region, located on the left bank of the Tanaro River in Piedmont, is characterized by its unique sandy-limestone soil composition. The hills of Roero provide excellent exposure for grape growing, while the microclimate, influenced by the nearby Alps and the Tanaro River, creates perfect conditions for the Arneis grape variety. The DOCG (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita) status, awarded to Roero Arneis in 2004, confirms the region's exceptional quality standards.
